I have always been a voracious reader (a book-a-day type). And before the internet became fast-paced and fandom-filled, I would sit at my family’s old Windows 95 desktop and write book reports for fun. Why?
Because it was so satisfying to identify what made a protagonist a sympathetic lead or what made my eyes glaze over by the third page.
Most importantly, I’d puzzle out why a story, an article, or even a blog post just clicked.
Reading multiple books a week is a bit harder now, but my love for finding good stories has never been easier. Now as a writer and editor, I have the skills to identify what sparks a reader’s imagination and what will keep them engaged till the very last word.
